The Warlis are an aboriginal tribe indigenous to Western India. The sobriety of colours used is offset by the sheer vividness of the content that makes up most Warli painting. They are painted on an austere surface with the use of only one colour-white. The white colour of the paint comes from a mixture of rice paste and water with little gum as binding to make the paintings a little more long lasting. They use a bamboo stick chewed at the end to serve as their paintbrush. Rudra by Surashree Cotton specializes in the craftsmanship of weaving the one art form that has been invented, re-invented and mastered over centuries by not only the fashion pioneers of this country, but also the tribes from where they originate. With an aim to add regality and sensuality to this classic drape, they offer a versatile range of timeless drapes.
